Overview

A special highlight of this season is the brilliant final concert of the Wiener Klassik. The established EUROPAMUSICALE Festival Orchestra, under the direction of Felix Krieger, will present one of the greatest masters of Viennese classical music in Munich's most beautiful open-air concert hall, the Brunnenhof of the Residenz. Unique wind soloists will perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's concerts in the atmospheric atmosphere of a mild summer evening. We look forward to offering you a listening experience in a class of its own.

In bad weather the concert will take place in the Herkulessaal

Venue Info

Munich Residenz - Munich
Location   Residenzstraße 1

The Munich Residenz in central Munich is the former royal palace of the Wittelsbach monarchs of Bavaria. The Residenz is the largest city palace in Germany and is today open to visitors for its architecture, room decorations, and displays from the former royal collections.

The complex of buildings contains ten courtyards and displays 130 rooms. The three main parts are the Königsbau (near the Max-Joseph-Platz), the Alte Residenz (Old Residenz; towards the Residenzstraße) and the Festsaalbau (towards the Hofgarten). A wing of the Festsaalbau contains the Cuvilliés Theatre since the reconstruction of the Residenz after World War II. It also houses the Herkulessaal (Hercules Hall), the primary concert venue for the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. The Byzantine Court Church of All Saints (Allerheiligen-Hofkirche) at the east side is facing the Marstall, the building for the former Court Riding School and the royal stables.

Numerous cultural events take place throughout the year in the rooms and courtyards of the Munich Residence. The varied offer ranges from concerts and exhibitions to open-air events and residence weeks.
