Overview

The weird musical about the over-80s party that got out of hand in the retirement home "Ewig Jung" ("Forever Young").

The cane knocks to the beat of "I Love Rock'n'Roll", the arthritic limbs twitch to "Stayin Alive", the men sing "Born to be Wild" until lumbago slows them down.

"Everything used to be better", remembers Beate, "I had piercings in all my lips!"
And Patrick, very bohemian in a brocade dressing gown, lectures on partial retirement and life insurance and then swings seamlessly into "Buena Sera, Signorina" until the gasp stops him.
Even the sloppy old hipster Dietrich really turns up the speed with "Tambourine Man", "San Francisco" and "Take a Walk on the Wild Side".
Only head nurse Janine doesn't want to take part. She is responsible for seated gymnastics for "We clap our hands, clap, clap, clap!". The low point is reached when she singing "Another One Bites the Dust" and "Time to Say Goodbye".

And yet it is more the melancholy moments that are strongly remembered. When, for example, Mrs. Fuhrmann and Mr. Schling confess their love with Peter Maffay's "So are you" without irony or when Mrs. Dorn sings "We Shall Overcome" while scattering the ashes from her friend's urn.

"EWIG JUNG" is an excellent entertainment
the musical that will delight both the illustrious group of singing actors and the audience! " This musical will be a hit!" Predicted the Berliner Tagesspiegel after the premiere in 2009. And he was right: Berlin's ex-mayor Klaus Wowereit, who jumped out of his seat enthusiastically during the visit, is no longer in office. But the senior group still rocks the house!
This anarchy troupe is now celebrated on countless European stages from Oslo to Berlin.

EWIG JUNG is always sold out and has been one of the most successful musicals in Europe for many years.

Venue Info

Munich Residenz - Munich
Location   Residenzstraße 1

The Munich Residenz in central Munich is the former royal palace of the Wittelsbach monarchs of Bavaria. The Residenz is the largest city palace in Germany and is today open to visitors for its architecture, room decorations, and displays from the former royal collections.

The complex of buildings contains ten courtyards and displays 130 rooms. The three main parts are the Königsbau (near the Max-Joseph-Platz), the Alte Residenz (Old Residenz; towards the Residenzstraße) and the Festsaalbau (towards the Hofgarten). A wing of the Festsaalbau contains the Cuvilliés Theatre since the reconstruction of the Residenz after World War II. It also houses the Herkulessaal (Hercules Hall), the primary concert venue for the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. The Byzantine Court Church of All Saints (Allerheiligen-Hofkirche) at the east side is facing the Marstall, the building for the former Court Riding School and the royal stables.

Numerous cultural events take place throughout the year in the rooms and courtyards of the Munich Residence. The varied offer ranges from concerts and exhibitions to open-air events and residence weeks.
