Programme
Overview

Summer Proms in the Brunnenhof

Music from the greatest blockbusters of all time: "Harry Potter", "Star Wars", "Play me the song of death", "The Magnificent Seven", "Indiana Jones", "Jurassic Park", "Pirates of the Caribbean" and much more.

There are film scenes that everyone can see immediately, if only the associated music is playing - the melody and images are so intensely burned into the collective memory. But even in Hollywood, soundtrack specialists are not given much time to dress the freshly cut cinema images in the appropriate orchestral garb. And yet it is often the composers in particular who help a film to immortalize - with melodic ideas and an unmistakable sense of emotion and drama. Because what would the greatest films be without the music that is perfectly tailored to the picture and plot?

The most beautiful soundtracks in film history in a large open-air concert

"The Sound of Hollywood" celebrates the ingenious motifs and striking themes of the greatest blockbusters of all time with majestically glamorous action sounds from "Indiana Jones" or "Jurassic Park" Melodies as you can hear them from "Harry Potter" or "The Magnificent Seven", the galactic echoes in "Star Wars" or with the unmistakable sounds of harmonica and orchestra from "Play Me a Song of Death". The film music spectacle lets all the catchy tunes shine in a true open-air festival of timbres. You don't have to be a cineast to rave about the titles ...

Venue Info

Munich Residenz - Munich
Location   Residenzstraße 1

The Munich Residenz in central Munich is the former royal palace of the Wittelsbach monarchs of Bavaria. The Residenz is the largest city palace in Germany and is today open to visitors for its architecture, room decorations, and displays from the former royal collections.

The complex of buildings contains ten courtyards and displays 130 rooms. The three main parts are the Königsbau (near the Max-Joseph-Platz), the Alte Residenz (Old Residenz; towards the Residenzstraße) and the Festsaalbau (towards the Hofgarten). A wing of the Festsaalbau contains the Cuvilliés Theatre since the reconstruction of the Residenz after World War II. It also houses the Herkulessaal (Hercules Hall), the primary concert venue for the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. The Byzantine Court Church of All Saints (Allerheiligen-Hofkirche) at the east side is facing the Marstall, the building for the former Court Riding School and the royal stables.

Numerous cultural events take place throughout the year in the rooms and courtyards of the Munich Residence. The varied offer ranges from concerts and exhibitions to open-air events and residence weeks.
