Overview

Summer Proms in the Brunnenhof

On extensive journeys through the south, the instrumental quartet has picked up many musical jewels on the streets and squares of Mediterranean cities, which they now present in a program full of ease: From spirited Neapolitan street hooters to daring improvisations and lively travel songs to musical dream images of the south.

Quadro Nuevo

The four musicians from Quadro Nuevo have been touring all over the world for over 20 years. Enriched by the countless encounters with foreign cultures and people of different origins, the ensemble combines Mediterranean melodies into fairytale sound fables on a mild summer night. On extensive journeys through the south, the instrumental quartet has picked up many musical jewels on the streets and squares of the Mediterranean cities, which it now presents in a program full of ease. In the songs, the musicians awaken the dream images of the south, which have always inspired the longing, melancholy imaginations of northern and central Europeans. There are also spirited Neapolitan hit songs, daring improvisations, and lively travel songs.

Mulo Francel, saxophones & clarinets
Paulo Morello, guitar
D.D. Lowka, bass, percussion & xylophone
Andreas Hinterseher, accordion

Venue Info

Munich Residenz - Munich
Location   Residenzstraße 1

The Munich Residenz in central Munich is the former royal palace of the Wittelsbach monarchs of Bavaria. The Residenz is the largest city palace in Germany and is today open to visitors for its architecture, room decorations, and displays from the former royal collections.

The complex of buildings contains ten courtyards and displays 130 rooms. The three main parts are the Königsbau (near the Max-Joseph-Platz), the Alte Residenz (Old Residenz; towards the Residenzstraße) and the Festsaalbau (towards the Hofgarten). A wing of the Festsaalbau contains the Cuvilliés Theatre since the reconstruction of the Residenz after World War II. It also houses the Herkulessaal (Hercules Hall), the primary concert venue for the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. The Byzantine Court Church of All Saints (Allerheiligen-Hofkirche) at the east side is facing the Marstall, the building for the former Court Riding School and the royal stables.

Numerous cultural events take place throughout the year in the rooms and courtyards of the Munich Residence. The varied offer ranges from concerts and exhibitions to open-air events and residence weeks.
