Programme
Overview

It is a guarantee for a fresh attitude towards life, vitality, and lust: the "Wiener Johann Strauss Concert Gala". Since 1996 Matthias Georg Kendlinger's export hit - the original with the K&K Philharmonic and the Austrian K&K Ballet - has cast a spell over more than 1 million fans in 19 European countries - a musical fountain of youth that even kings and emperors would enjoy - cult status included!

1996 lifted Matthias Georg Kendlinger this tour - with far more than one million visitors one of the most successful in the history of music - from the baptism: Matthias Georg Kendlinger, founder of K & K Philharmoniker-technicians , the Austrian K & K Ballet, and the K & K Opera chores. Together with his ensembles, he earns bravos and standing ovations, among others. in the concert halls of Madrid, Zurich, Oslo, Paris, Berlin, and in the Wiener Musikverein. Kendlinger puts the program together anew every year, leads the rehearsals, and can often be experienced at the desk. Son Maximilian Kendlinger, Taras Lenko and Martin Kerschbaum from Vienna conduct alternately.

The Austrian K&K Ballet can also be experienced in selected cities. It has been dancing since 2009 under the direction of Viktor Litvinov, ballet master of the Kyiv State Opera. Co-founder of the Austrian K&K Ballet was the unforgettable Viennese choreographer Gerlinde Dill. choreographed the world-famous New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic for over two decades.

In addition to the unmistakable evergreens of the Strauss dynasty, the program also traditionally includes a variety of rarities. In addition, refreshing humor is a trademark of this concert series. Of course, you can also look forward to the Danube Waltz and the obligatory encore Radetzky March. All in all: The Vienna Johann Strauss Concert Gala enchants its audience, even on Danish television DR and ZDF, where it has been broadcast several times.

Venue Info

Munich Residenz - Munich
Location   Residenzstraße 1

The Munich Residenz in central Munich is the former royal palace of the Wittelsbach monarchs of Bavaria. The Residenz is the largest city palace in Germany and is today open to visitors for its architecture, room decorations, and displays from the former royal collections.

The complex of buildings contains ten courtyards and displays 130 rooms. The three main parts are the Königsbau (near the Max-Joseph-Platz), the Alte Residenz (Old Residenz; towards the Residenzstraße) and the Festsaalbau (towards the Hofgarten). A wing of the Festsaalbau contains the Cuvilliés Theatre since the reconstruction of the Residenz after World War II. It also houses the Herkulessaal (Hercules Hall), the primary concert venue for the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. The Byzantine Court Church of All Saints (Allerheiligen-Hofkirche) at the east side is facing the Marstall, the building for the former Court Riding School and the royal stables.

Numerous cultural events take place throughout the year in the rooms and courtyards of the Munich Residence. The varied offer ranges from concerts and exhibitions to open-air events and residence weeks.
