Overview

The exclusive artistic event that every year comes to life on the native hills of Maestro Bocelli in Lajatico in the province of Pisa.

The "Theater of Silence" is a natural amphitheater created in the splendid setting of the hills of Lajatico, created by the will of Arch. Alberto Bartalini and Maestro Andrea Bocelli. A "silent" project, in a space that for almost a whole year remains intact in its perfect harmony, enlivening for a few days with characters from bel canto, music and dance, national and international. A small landscape jewel of the Volterrano hinterland in the heart of Tuscany.

The magic of a unique performance is therefore renewed, where Andrea Bocelli, supported by many famous artist friends and by the Teatro del Silenzio Orchestra, will give life to an unforgettable evening, under the artistic direction of Alberto Bartalini.

It will be an exceptional concert, a joyful experience that will envelop the public in a sound and visual embrace, proposing, as traditionally happens in Lajatico, a parallel score made of colors and phantasmagoric scenographies and a message of trust and positivity.

"I celebrate a new day to spend together, next summer, I celebrate a project that has marked more than half of my career and that once again launches its own challenge, setting a date and committing to always live up to expectations and if possible to overcome them ".

The Teatro del Silenzio (Theater of Silence) is an open air amphitheater located in the city of Lajatico – the hometown of Andrea Bocelli – in the Tuscany region of Italy. In 2006, Bocelli convinced the municipality of Lajatico to build this outdoor venue whose structure utilizes the natural formations of the hilly landscape.

Bocelli contributed greatly to its construction. Bocelli, the honorary president of the theater, performs an annual concert there every July; the theater is silent for the rest of the year. The Teatro del Silenzio annually hosts a concert in July. The concert includes performances by Andrea Bocelli and other guests.

The site of Teatro del Silenzio also incorporates sculptures by renowned artists. Sculptures have been selected to be exhibited on a platform in the center of the lake. In 2008, Mario Ceroli's "Il Cavallo di Bronzo", a bronze horse was displayed with past sculptures including Arnaldo Pomodoro's "Il Grande Sole", and works by Igor Mitoraj and Kurt Laurenz Metzler.
