These two world-renowned wine regions, which are the cradle of California's most famous wine country, are located about an hour's drive north of San Francisco. They are famous for their hills planted with some of the world's most popular grape varieties. The Napa Valley is a land of stately estates, expansive tasting rooms, quaint towns, and elegant residences, many along the famous Silverado Trail. Sonoma County tends to create a more intimate atmosphere, especially as you head further north towards the Russian River.
