Programme
Overview
Malaysian pianist Bridget Yee ignites the stage with Stravinsky’s Infernal Dance and Liszt’s fiery sonata. She also offers Franck’s melancholic organ transcription and unveils Laila Arafah’s new “Shadow Undulations of a Bellflower.” Tickets are just £10.Renowned for her imaginative intensity and currently in a three-year residency with the Riot Ensemble, Malaysian pianist Bridget Yee invites audiences on an electrifying voyage through fire and reflection. She unleashes Guido Agosti’s virtuosic transcription of Stravinsky’s ballet, igniting the recital with the Infernal Dance’s primal urgency. In a gentle counterpoint, she renders Harold Bauer’s lyrical transcription of César Franck’s melancholic organ piece—a romantic reverie dedicated to Saint-Saëns—with poetic nuance. The evening continues with the world premiere of Laila Arafah’s "Shadow Undulations of a Bellflower" (2026), crafted especially for Yee’s imaginative artistry. The program culminates in Liszt’s infernal sonata, a tempestuous fantasia that dramatizes a theological battle between light and darkness. Experience this passionate musical odyssey for only £10.
