The opening programme brings together the poised elegance of the youthful Op. 2 No. 1, first published in Vienna in 1796, and the sweeping heroism of the ‘Waldstein’ Sonata, where bold thematic gestures and crystalline passagework collide in dramatic contrast. With acute musical intelligence and uncompromising clarity, Levit invites audiences to rediscover these cornerstone works, balancing classical precision with impassioned spontaneity in a vivid celebration of Beethoven’s enduring legacy.
