Programme
Overview
Journey across centuries with O/Modernt: from a stirring 12th-century Viderunt Omnes to Tabakova’s modern Patience of Trees, Josquin’s Ave Maria, Schnelzer’s Apollonian Dances and Marmén’s inventive Radiohead reimagining. Experience an immersive fusion of ancient and contemporary sounds in one unforgettable evening.O/Modernt, led by visionary Hugo Ticciati, embarks on a transcendent musical odyssey that bridges medieval Paris and the modern metropolis. The ensemble’s journey begins with a potent arrangement of Viderunt Omnes, reviving the luminous harmonies of a 12th-century chant, before yielding to Dobrinka Tabakova’s 2021 concerto The Patience of Trees: a haunting dialogue between a solo violin, percussion and strings that meditates on the interplay of nature and urban life. After intermission, the musicians turn to Josquin’s jewel-like Ave Maria, revel in the vibrant momentum of Albert Schnelzer’s Apollonian Dances, and close the evening with Johannes Marmén’s bold orchestration of a Radiohead classic. Each work unfolds as an invitation to rediscover music beyond temporal confines, blending ancient reverence with contemporary flair in a richly textured concert experience.
