Programme
Overview
Join the Wigmore Soloists for an extraordinary evening of wind chamber music, opening with Beethoven's light yet potent Octet and unfolding into two supreme serenades, each brimming with unforgettable melodies and sumptuous sonorities. A testament to chamber music at its most elegant. For half a decade, the Wigmore Soloists have been celebrated for their versatile ensemble formations and eclectic programming that spans centuries. This evening, they turn their focus to three cornerstone works for wind ensemble, beginning with Beethoven's Octet in E-flat major - a composition that marries delicate charm with commanding structural clarity. Their seamless blend of woodwinds and horns then gives way to two masterful serenades, each suffused with radiant melodies and lush harmonies. From hushed, intimate passages to luminous, full-bodied swells, the programme showcases the ensemble's full expressive range and technical finesse. Each instrument emerges both as an individual voice and as part of a cohesive sonic tapestry, weaving moments of introspection with bursts of exhilarating energy. Prepare for an evening of chamber music where every phrase resonates with elegance and emotional depth.
