Featuring works by Price, Poulenc, Loewe, Rachmaninov and Liverman’s own Four Private Parables, this programme explores myth, fate, faith and freedom through richly expressive song.Acclaimed for his rich, resonant voice and incisive musical insight, baritone Will Liverman teams with pianist Myra Huang for an evening of song that spans the full emotional spectrum. The programme opens with the gentle lyricism of Florence Price’s art songs and Francis Poulenc’s intimate mélodies before moving to the sweeping drama of Loewe’s romantic balladry and Rachmaninov’s impassioned settings. Interwoven in the recital are Liverman’s Four Private Parables, through which he explores themes of myth, fate, faith and freedom with vivid musical storytelling. Set within the warm intimacy of a recital hall, their performance weaves glowing piano textures and soaring vocal lines into a compelling journey of reflection and discovery.

All in all, it now presents around 500 concerts every year, selling a total of 200,000 tickets, and stages as many Learning events. Wigmore Hall plays host to a biennial International Song Competition, and a triennial International String Quartet Competition, drawing exceptionally talented young musicians from around the world keen to embark on significant recital careers.
