Programme
Overview

Director Mikhail Eliseev will present a musical and plastic composition to the music of Gustav Mahler at the Zaryadye Hall. The performance will combine music, choreography and poetic word. The project is based on Mahler's vocal cycles based on Friedrich Rückert's poems “Songs of the Earth” and “Songs of Dead Children”, as well as poems by Japanese poets.

“The performance in a plastic and musical form reflects the experience of a man and a woman who have experienced the loss of a child. The pain of loss, disbelief in what happened, rejection of reality, a natural reaction to the tragedy that happened – these are dramatic, but temporary pages in a person's life path. The knowledge of pain, the knowledge of death is an invariable component of the knowledge of life. To lead the audience through catharsis to enlightenment - this is the purpose of the performance, and for this we turned to the works of Mahler,” – explains the director.

Zaryadye Hall - Moscow
Location   Varvarka Street, 6 с.4

Zaryadye Hall is a concert hall in Moscow located in the Zaryadye Natural Landscape Park. Valery Gergiev, Denis Matsuev, Anna Netrebko, Daniil Trifonov and Ildar Abdrazakov spoke at the opening ceremony.

The peculiarity of Zaryadye Hall is its strict genre correspondence. No pop performances are planned in the hall. The Zaryadye Hall received world-class performers on the stages of the Big and Small Halls, introduced the audience to the work of such musicians as mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kozhena (Czech Republic), conductor Andrew Parrot and Taverner Choir, Consort and Players (Great Britain), countertenor Jakub Josef Orlinsky ( Poland), Quatuor Diotima string quartet (France). And these artists, in turn, discovered Moscow and Russia.

The hall hosts concerts of not only outstanding masters, but also young artists, a series of topical musical projects: Sound Up, New Classics. The Zaryadye Hall hosted the world premiere of the ballet "Little Red Riding Hood" by the famous dancer Sergei Polunin. The repertoire of the hall also includes educational programs for children and adults: excursions, lectures, master classes, and interactive concert programs.
