Programme
Overview

A series of concerts for the 115th anniversary of Shostakovich opens at the Zaryadye Hall.

For the first time, capital and regional orchestras will take part in a large-scale project: the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra, the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia “Evgeny Svetlanov”, the National Symphony Orchestra of Russia, the Russian National Orchestra, Persimfans, Moscow Soloists and others under the baton of the conductors, such as Vladimir Fedoseev, Dmitry Korchak, Vasily Petrenko, Vladimir Spivakov, Mikhail Pletnev, Pierre Blaise (France), Dmitry Liss, Andrey Boreiko, Yuri Bashmet, Daniil Raiskin.

Symphony No. 10. Shostakovich wrote the symphony in 1953. From the previous one, the Eighth, it is separated by eight years. The premiere of the Tenth Symphony took place in December 1953, performed by the Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra. The conductor was Evgeny Mravinsky. In an interview with Sofya Khentova, Mravinsky said about the symphony: “This is one of his great works, here he achieved in the finale a perfect synthesis of the objective and subjective, complete merging of the hero with the diverse stream of life: this is the meaning of the autobiographical monogram theme that appears in the symphony - DSCH ( D-Es-CH) ”.

Before the concert in the Chamber hall at 19.00 there will be a lecture “Conversation about Shostakovich”.
Dina Kirnarskaya

Since many things taken for granted from the understanding of Shostakovich's music go away with the generation for which this music was written, a commentary on each concert becomes necessary. For this purpose, the cycle “Conversation about Shostakovich” has been created: an hour before each concert in the Chamber hall of Zaryadye musicians, journalists and musicologists will tell about the composer's symphonies:

Pyotr Aidou and Grigory Krotenko (No. 1 and No. 2)
Julia Bederova (No. 8 and No. 15)
Levon Akopyan (No. 11, No. 13 and No. 14 - about the latter together with Yuri Bashmet)
Dina Kirnarskaya (No. 6 and No. 10)
Varvara Turova and Alexey Kurbatov (No. 5)
Joseph Raiskin (No. 7)
Olga Digonskaya (No. 9 and No. 12)
Andrey Boreiko (No. 4)
Joseph Raiskin and Daniil Raiskin (No. 3)

Zaryadye Hall - Moscow

Zaryadye Hall is a concert hall in Moscow located in the Zaryadye Natural Landscape Park. Valery Gergiev, Denis Matsuev, Anna Netrebko, Daniil Trifonov and Ildar Abdrazakov spoke at the opening ceremony.

The peculiarity of Zaryadye Hall is its strict genre correspondence. No pop performances are planned in the hall. The Zaryadye Hall received world-class performers on the stages of the Big and Small Halls, introduced the audience to the work of such musicians as mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kozhena (Czech Republic), conductor Andrew Parrot and Taverner Choir, Consort and Players (Great Britain), countertenor Jakub Josef Orlinsky ( Poland), Quatuor Diotima string quartet (France). And these artists, in turn, discovered Moscow and Russia.

The hall hosts concerts of not only outstanding masters, but also young artists, a series of topical musical projects: Sound Up, New Classics. The Zaryadye Hall hosted the world premiere of the ballet "Little Red Riding Hood" by the famous dancer Sergei Polunin. The repertoire of the hall also includes educational programs for children and adults: excursions, lectures, master classes, and interactive concert programs.
