Overview

Among contemporary classical musicians, Russian born violinist Roman Mints is one of the most outstanding. He studied and lived in London, and became famous after playing at South Bank Centre, Wigmore Hall, Gaveau, Berlin Philharmony, and several festivals. Mints never limited himself to classics only, he collaborated with avantgarde and free jazz musicians, and contemporary composers. In 1998 Roman Mints and oboist Dmitry Bulgakov founded the Homecoming Chamber Music Festival in Moscow, which has gained widespread recognition and a substantial following in Russia.

This time, Roman’s partner on stage is Varvara Myagkova, whose way to the public recognition can be regarded as unique. Until recently, her name had been known in small professional circles only, despite the fact that she had toured whole Russia. But she became a sort of household name after some famous musicians stunned by her talent had shared her concert videos at social networks. In 2019, she was invited to several big festivals in Russia and abroad; pianist Boris Berezovsky invited her to perform at “Summer Nights in Yelabuga”, one of the most significant festivals in Russia.

Zaryadye Hall - Moscow
Location   Varvarka Street, 6 с.4

Zaryadye Hall is a concert hall in Moscow located in the Zaryadye Natural Landscape Park. Valery Gergiev, Denis Matsuev, Anna Netrebko, Daniil Trifonov and Ildar Abdrazakov spoke at the opening ceremony.

The peculiarity of Zaryadye Hall is its strict genre correspondence. No pop performances are planned in the hall. The Zaryadye Hall received world-class performers on the stages of the Big and Small Halls, introduced the audience to the work of such musicians as mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kozhena (Czech Republic), conductor Andrew Parrot and Taverner Choir, Consort and Players (Great Britain), countertenor Jakub Josef Orlinsky ( Poland), Quatuor Diotima string quartet (France). And these artists, in turn, discovered Moscow and Russia.

The hall hosts concerts of not only outstanding masters, but also young artists, a series of topical musical projects: Sound Up, New Classics. The Zaryadye Hall hosted the world premiere of the ballet "Little Red Riding Hood" by the famous dancer Sergei Polunin. The repertoire of the hall also includes educational programs for children and adults: excursions, lectures, master classes, and interactive concert programs.
