German soprano Anett Fritsch was born in Plauen and studied at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Music and Theatre Academy, Leipzig.
In 2009 she joined the ensemble of Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Düsseldorf, where her roles have included Valencienne (Die lustige Witwe), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Gretel, Blanche (Dialogues des Carmélites), Konstanze (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) and Marie (La Fille du régiment). Engagements elsewhere include Almirena (Rinaldo) for Glyndebourne Festival, Meriones (Telemaco) for Theater an der Wien, Ginevra (Ariodante) for Dutch National Opera, Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), the Countess (Le nozze di Figaro) and Marzelline (Fidelio) for Teatro Real, Madrid, the Countess for Liceu, Barcelona, Fiordiligi for La Monnaie, Brussels, and Vienna Festival, Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) for Salzburg Festival and Dutch National Opera, Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) for Bavarian State Opera and Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro) on tour with René Jacobs and the Freiburger Barockorchester.
Fritsch’s recordings include DVDs of Rinaldo, Così fan tutte and Don Giovanni.
