Puccini Festival 2023
The Open-Air Grand Theatre with the evocative backdrop of Lake Massaciuccoli in its full capacity of 3,400 seats will also in 2023 be the natural setting for the productions of Puccini’s operas, just a few steps away from the Villa Mausoleum, where the maestro Giacomo Puccini lived and composed his immortal works and is now buried.
The Puccini Festival of Torre del Lago thus confirms itself once again in 2023 as one of the most eagerly awaited events in the cultural offer of Tuscany and among the most internationally recognised, the only Festival in the world dedicated to the composer Giacomo Puccini that every year attracts thousands of spectators to the very places that inspired the maestro Puccini with his immortal melodies.
Four Puccini titles on stage between July and August for 14 magical evenings of opera in the unique setting of the Gran Teatro all’aperto Giacomo Puccini.
In 2023, operas will be presented: "La Boheme", "Turandot", "Madame Butterfly", as well as a co-production with the Teatro Dell'Opera Di Roma of the opera "Il Tabarro" and the opera "Bluebeard's Castle" by Bela Bartok.
About the Puccini Festival
The Festival di Puccini in Tuscany is the only festival in the world dedicated to Giacomo Puccini (Giacomo Puccini). It is held annually in summer months at the Torre del Lago.
The Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago is perhaps the most prestigious and grandiose event in the cultural life of the Tuscany region. The festival is held with 1930 year. Each year, Puccini's opera productions are presented by such opera houses as La Scala, the Roman Opera and other famous musical theaters and collectives. The composer lived on Lake Massachuccoli in Torre del Lago for about 30 years of his life. It was here that his most famous operas were created - Tosca (1900), Madame Butterfly (1904), Girl from the West (1910), Swallow (1917) and Triptych (1918). Near the villa The maestro, which is open to visitors in the summer, has an open amphitheater with 3370 seats and a closed auditorium with 495 seats on the lake.
