In 2023, the Thurn and Taxis Castle Festival will take place for the 19th time from July 14 to 23, 2023 in the enchanting atmosphere of the inner courtyard and park of the Princely Castle in Regensburg. A top-class program spanning all genres with a large number of international stars make the festival a magnet for over 30,000 visitors from Germany and abroad every year in the festival summer.
The premiere is on July 14th and 15th, 2023 with Mozart's successful opera "The Magic Flute" in an unforgettable open-air production of the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg. "The Magic Flute" owes its popularity above all to its fairytale-like, folk theater-like and at the same time profound content, the spectacular stage transformations and of course the wonderful music of Mozart, but also the loving, deeply human drawing of the characters. Happy and heartfelt, solemn, magical and dramatic combine in the "Magic Flute" to a tableau that cannot be surpassed in terms of colour. An absolute highlight right at the beginning!
The "King of Tenors", Jonas Kaufmann, invites you to a festive opera gala on July 21, 2023 together with the fantastic American soprano Rachel Willis-Sørensen accompanied by the Hofer Symphoniker conducted by Jochen Rieder. Superlatives are hardly enough to describe Kaufmann's talent and career. The hearts of the audience fly to him in record time. His seductively beautiful voice impresses with its power, passion and temperament. The renowned tenor is at home in a wide variety of genres. The famous Italian singer Eros Ramazzotti comes to Regensburg on July 23, 2023 as part of his current world tour. His "Battito Infinito World Tour" featured preview shows at the Arena in Verona, Seville and other locations in Italy, Greece and Israel before the tour started in Los Angeles. His new album "Battito Infinito" was recently released in September and already showed with the first single release "Ama" why Ramazzotti has been one of the most popular and successful artists of our time for over 35 years.
